Total Fisherman Guide Service specializes in fishing five different areas in the waters around Key West.
Being adjacent to the third largest barrier reef in the world, Key West has a unique fishing environment consisting of the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, the reef itself, the sunken reef also known as “The Bar” as well as the Marquesas Atoll to the west.
Why you should fish with us
Kevin believes in working hard, having fun and catching fish, while keeping you safe and happy.
My goal for you fishing charter is to discuss with you what you want from the day and align that with what fish are available and biting during the time of your trip.
I always have a plan for your charter. I don’t just go out hoping to catch something. An unsuccessful day is just not an option here.
I will do everything in my power to make the best day happen for your group. Total Fisherman Guide Service spares no expense or effort to make your charter the best day possible.
Our Key West Fishing Charters are for four (1/2 day), six (3/4 day) or eight hours (full day). How much time you have available for your charter, structures where we go and what we fish for.
½ Day Trips (4 Hours) – $750
These are typically reef fishing trips where we anchor the boat and target a variety of Snappers (Yellowtail, Mutton, Mangrove), Grouper (Red, Black, Hind, Goliath), Jacks (Amberjack, Yellow Jack, Crevalle Jack), Barracuda and a variety of sharks.
¾ Day Trips (6 Hours) - $950
Since we have more time than a half day trip, we generally start on the reef and then move to deeper water structure such as a wreck or go offshore into deeper waters to target species such as Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish and Mahi Mahi.
Full Day Trips (8 hours) – $1200
These trips allow the most time to get to the best fishing locations, we often run to the end of The Bar or to the waters near the Marquesas Atoll.
These waters don’t see the fishing pressure that happens closer to Key West, which generally means larger fish and more of them. Beginning on a reef or wreck for the first part of the day and then traveling offshore to target Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish and Mahi Mahi.
These trips give you the most that Key West fishing has to offer.
Light tackle. We pair our rods and reels to each species we target so that you’re enjoying the fight of the fish and not fighting the equipment.
It’s no fun to fight a 10 pound fish on something that’s made for catching Marlin and sharks.
We don’t make you sit in a fighting chair to land your fish. You can feel free to move around the boat as your fish runs from side to side. Actively fishing, holding the rod and enjoying the fight is what it’s all about.
We only use Shimano reels because they have proven themselves to high quality, durable and user friendly.
Our rods are Lamiglas, Shimano & G. Loomis ensuring quality light tackle performance that you will enjoy fighting your fish on.
END OF YOUR TRIP
At the end of your trip, we come back to the dock and I will fillet and bag your catch so you can take it with you. The marina has a restaurant and bar where you can hang out while I process the fish.
Our boat is moored at Oceans Edge Marina & Hotel (5950 Peninsular Ave, Key West, FL 33040)
